I'm a hobbyist costumer that focuses primarily on historical and ethnic recreations. While I play around in a lot of historical eras, Georgian, Regency, Victorian, and the 1920s are by far the best represented in my closets. I would consider myself a novice at Italian Renaissance as this will be my first attempt at a Renaissance project of any kind.

My plan is to make an outfit inspired by the portrait of Smeralda Bandinelli by Sandro Botticelli, c 1475. I plan to take some liberties with color and accessories to suit personal taste, but otherwise retain her overall look. The outfit will include: camicia, soccacia, petticoat, gamurra w/ attached sleeves, belt, partlet, sheer gonella w/ woven trim, embroidered handkerchief, embroidered cap w/ forehead cloth, and a different style of necklace.
