Rainey Robertson
Colorado, USA

Hello everyone! My name is Rainey and I have been sewing since I was a young girl. For the last three years I've been sewing Norse garb in the SCA (Society for Creative Acronism). This will be my first attempt at an Italian costume.

For this outfit I will be drawing inspiration from figure 182 "Young noble bride in Florence and other parts of Tuscany" from the book "Vecellio's Renaissance Costume Book" by Cesare Vecellio. I will also drawing inspiration from "Portrait of a girl" by Agnolo Bronzino. Using these sources I will make a custom dress for myself that is historically based.

I plan to create a linen camicia, a cotton sottana with sleeves, and a silk overgown with pearled trim. For accessories I plan on making a girdle, necklace and earrings, partlet, pocket, handkerchief, drawers, inkle woven garters, shoes, muff, zibellini, hair net, veil, and if I have time, a petticoat and some stockings.
