A Feather Fan - Susan Malovrh

Here is my feather fan for the Idle Hands Mini Challenge. I started out very authentic by plucking a goose for the feathers that my hubby harvested during hunting season. I searched the internet for ways to clean the feathers and settled on sewing them into a pillowcase and washing them in dish soap and borax. Air drying was the recommended way to go. I found a wooden salad fork at a thrift store and cut it down to size and then sanded some curves into it and painted it gold. I then sorted my feathers and glued them to the fork. I attached a jeweled broach from Michael's Craft store to the front and added a hanging cord. I am now planning an elegant gown to show it off. Thanks for challenging me to get a project done.
