neck edge. The linen neck binding is not embroidered
on this side. The bottom row of gathering stitches
used to pull in the fullness of the shirt is visible
below the binding. The bobbin lace is sewn to the top
edge of the binding with white linen thread and has
alternate motifs of white linen and crimson
silk."
