"Lancé
satin,
first half of sixteenth century, Florence
Museo
Nazionale del Bargello.
The fabric features the classic compositional design of the Florentine
production of the first half of the century, made of of motifs derived
from the pomegranate or the acorn, enclosed within grid-type vegetable
structures.
This was
suitable for both clothing and furnishing fabrics, the appropriate
utilisation being suggested solely by the different weight of the
fabric."
